KnowledgeAdvisors Metrics that Matter Tool Helps Eaton University Win CUBIC Award for Best Evaluation Technique
CHICAGO (January 7th, 2004) KnowledgeAdvisors announced that Eaton University, the training organization for diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation, has recently been honored with Corporate University Week’s CUBIC Award for Best Evaluation Technique.
The Best Evaluation Technique award winner must demonstrate evidence of formalized data collection, that strategic goals are clearly being achieved, the use of a valid evaluation model, a demonstrated return on investment to the business bottom line, and demonstrated executive management belief and support that learning is having an impact. A panel of learning and measurement experts judged applications.
“When we launched Eaton University in May 2001, it was absolutely critical that we show the value of what we do and the return on investment back to the overall corporation,” said Dee Walters, manager of Eaton University. “KnowledgeAdvisors Metrics that Matter tool helped us to demonstrate the impact of Eaton University.”
KnowledgeAdvisors Metrics that Matter system is the learning evaluation tool for Eaton University. The tool, which is fully integrated with Eaton’s learning management system, collects data from Eaton’s training participants and their managers gathering intelligence measuring job impact and business impact. In addition to over 100 web-based reports, a comprehensive score card is generated tabulating indicators on satisfaction, learning effectiveness, job impact, business results, and a financial return on investment.
The Metrics that Matter tool has also been leveraged for internal and external benchmarking. Comprehensive metrics compare performance of instructors, locations, learning programs, training deliveries and more. A database of over 40 million data points allows Eaton University to compare its performance against others.
“Clients like Eaton take full advantage of the power of managing learning by metrics,” said Kent Barnett, CEO of KnowledgeAdvisors. “We are very proud to have played a role in Eaton’s CUBIC award.”
Eaton University is not new to winning awards. Earlier in the year, it was awarded NetG’s Corporate University of the Year Award. “Eaton University is driven to be the best it can be and to maximize learning investments for Eaton Corporation,” said Barnett.
Dee Walters, of Eaton University, will speak at KnowledgeAdvisors Annual Learning Analytics Conference held March 17-19, 2004. This event is open to the public and will be a forum for others to learn from world-class learning organizations to learn how to measure the impact and return on training investments.
