KnowledgeAdvisors Data Sources ModelHuman Capital Analytics is defined as the processes, tools and technologies that help learning organizations better train, acquire, retain, retire and develop employees, partners and customers. Human Capital Analytics can be comprised of four core data sources:
- Operational Data: This data is an indicator of volume or activity for, say a Learning & Developement Organization. Examples may include # of student days, # of classes taught, instructor utilization, eLearning utilization.
- Testing and Assessment Data: This data is a measure of learning effectiveness. Examples may include pre vs. post test scores. Others may be business, skill or competency assessments.
- Evaluation & Evaluation Data: This data can be used to measure learning performance in a scalable manner or where limited resources exist. Indicators of satisfaction, effectiveness, impact, results and ROI can be forecasted through end of class (Post Event) evaluation and estimated through Follow Up (On the Job) evaluation and Manager evaluation.
- Impact Data: This data looks at actual results. Macro results to look at include changes in sales, quality, employee turnover, customer satisfaction, costs, productivity, cycle time, and business risk.
The Data Sources Model outlines the various attributes that comprise Human Capital Analytics data. Feeder systems from a variety of sources can be used in the data sources model. Feeder systems can include financial systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, human resource information systems (HRIS), learning management systems (LMS), evaluation and testing systems, productivity tools (Excel, Access) and competency management tools.
