MICROSOFT TEAMS WITH KNOWLEDGEADVISORS TO MEASURE TRAINING INVESTMENTS
KnowledgeAdvisors Metrics that Matter™ to provide Microsoft with business intelligence to manage and monitor its channel of certified training providers.
CHICAGO, IL – November 21, 2001 KnowledgeAdvisors today announced the formal deployment of its proprietary Metrics that Matter™ technology to Microsoft Corp., (NASDAQ: MSFT) and its channel of Certified Technical Education Centers (CTEC’s). The technology will allow Microsoft to objectively and consistently measure and manage several hundred independent training organizations that are certified in teaching Microsoft technologies. Metrics that Matter™ will not only provide Microsoft with real-time, online reporting of the performance for each of these training organizations, but the technology will also enable Microsoft to measure how effective the training was in allowing the end user to apply Microsoft applications on their jobs.
Microsoft has been piloting the end-to-end data collection, processing and reporting solution from KnowledgeAdvisors for the past several months and will now formally roll it out on a large scale. The intelligence gathered from the system will not only benefit Microsoft, but the training organizations will have access rights as well to pinpoint improvement opportunities in a proactive rather than reactive manner. “Metrics that Matter™ is a terrific solution that enables Microsoft CTECs, Microsoft and clients to evaluate and improve upon training effectiveness”, explained Marie Tosi, Microsoft, US Training & Services Partner Manager.
The training organizations that will be using the system as a tool to manage their businesses and their clients’ satisfaction are equally excited about the launch of Metrics that Matter™. “Metrics that Matter™ solves several of our key business initiatives through evaluation, benchmarking and reporting while allowing us to grow revenue and maintain our industry leadership. Metrics that Matter™ is a simple yet powerful tool to use and provide to our clients,” commented Richard Knudson, President, The Information Management Group. The Information Management Group is Microsoft’s 2001 CTEC of the Year.
Kent Barnett, KnowledgeAdvisors’ Founder, Chairman and CEO explained, “Microsoft and its channel partners are taking a revolutionary step in gathering the data and intelligence needed to manage and improve their significant investments in learning and its impact on job performance. Any organization with a substantial learning budget needs to measure and analyze the return they are receiving from that investment. Microsoft is no different. They evaluated our solution and concluded it was the best fit for their highly customized and complex set of needs.”
KnowledgeAdvisors’ proprietary technologies and methodologies provide turn-key measurement solutions. The flexibility of the solution facilitates the compilation of key performance indicators critical to management decision-making surrounding learning. “Our ability to offer indicators that are predictive of satisfaction, knowledge transfer, job impact, business results and ROI have made our solution very attractive to Microsoft and other large organizations with significant learning investments,” Barnett said.
