KnowledgeAdvisors Announces The Predictive Learning Impact Model
KnowledgeAdvisors Announces Release of The Predictive Learning Impact ModelTM, Revealing Statistically Significant Conclusions on The Best Investments in Human Capital
Chicago, IL [February 16, 2009] – KnowledgeAdvisors announced today that it has partnered with Nick Bontis, Ph.D. a leading expert on human capital from the Institute for Intellectual Capital Research, Associate Professor at McMaster University and 3M National Teaching Fellow, to develop The Predictive Learning Impact Model, showing causation on the impact of investments in human capital prior to them being made.
The KnowledgeAdvisors Predictive Learning Impact Model leverages the statistical analysis technique known as Structural Equation Modeling, or Causal Modeling. The Predictive Learning Model applies this principal to smart sheet learning evaluations collected in Metrics that MatterĀ® learning and talent analytics technology and analyzes key factors that influence learning and the business impact of that learning. The model also shows the statistical strength of these relationships.
“We’re pleased with the results of this research because it offers statistical proof in support of the Metrics that Matter predictive learning evaluation process. This model will provide organizations the ability to focus their investments on those factors that produce real impact,” stated Kent Barnett, Founder and CEO of KnowledgeAdvisors.
“The application of advanced empirical analysis on causal relationships between learning attributes and job impact will allow practitioners to not only gain confidence in the use of predictive analytic tools like Metrics that Matter, but also allow them to better understand learning outcomes in order to proactively manage their training investments, gaining a sustainable competitive advantage,” commented Nick Bontis, Ph.D.
The model was developed using more than a million data points collected on smart sheet evaluations contained in KnowledgeAdvisors Metrics that Matter. The smart sheet evaluations are aligned with measurement models authored by leading experts such as Dr. Don Kirkpatrick, Dr. Jack Phillips, and Dr. Rob Brinkerhoff. The smart sheets ask predictive questions beyond quality of learning and provide forecasts to help organizations better understand the impact of training sooner in the learning process.
